Velux Heat Protection Awning Review

Layout, design and features …

The heat protection awning consists of a weather-resistant plastic fabric, which is rolled up as a roller blind and is mounted in the window frame with two screws using the enclosed adapters. The adapter plates are packed in bags, using bags A, B, C or D depending on the type plate number. Two retaining claws are fixed to the lower end edge of the window with plasticine and then screwed tight.

The installation is quickly completed. The heat protection awning is installed with the enclosed installation material and after approx. 20 minutes the heat protection awning is even installed together with the blackout blind.

To use, the heat protection roller blind is now simply pulled out a little bit from the roller blind with a tab, then hooked into the previously screwed claws of the roof window and when closing, the heat protection roller blind pulls over the window.

As you can see very well on the picture, the external sun protection roller blind is simply hooked into the screwed on hook and pulls itself automatically over the window when closing.

A small light gap is still visible at the sides, otherwise the window pane is now completely protected from the sunlight and you can still see well out of the window.

Now we come to the most important part of the test, the Velux heat protection awning in practice.
