Shelly Door Window 2 Features …

The Shelly Door Window 2 is a sensor that detects the status – open or closed – of a door or window.

Thanks to tilt sensor, WiFi Door Window Sensor can even detect if a window or the door is tilted.

In addition to the magnetic sensor and the tilt sensor including vibration detection, there is even an integrated temperature sensor and a brightness sensor.

The sensor is very easy to attach to a door or window.

Before that, however, you need two CR123A batteries, which should last for more than 2 years according to the manufacturer. Of course, the battery status is also visible in the app.

As soon as the door or window is opened, the magnet in the small housing moves away from the reed contact in the Shelly Door/Window2, any action can be performed.

If you want to detect the tilt position of the window or door, the small magnet must of course be attached to the window frame and the larger sensor to the window or door. For a normal apartment door, this does not matter at all, unless you also want to detect the movement of the door.

The integrated brightness sensor also allows you to determine whether it is day or night and, based on the brightness measurement, you can, for example, have the lights switched on and if it gets too cold, the door-window sensor can send a notification after a certain time that you should close the window or door again.

This brings us to the Shelly Motion 2 features …

Shelly Motion 2 Features …

The Shelly Motion 2 is a motion detector with an integrated accelerometer.

In addition, the Shelly Motion 2 even measures brightness and temperature, making it another very versatile sensor.

As usual, you can use the app to define scenes, i.e. if-then functions, to have the motion detector perform defined activities.

You can control simple things like a Shelly 1 to turn on the light automatically. In addition, one can also include brightness measurement. So for example that the Shelly motion detector is only active when it is dark.

The Shelly Motion 2 can be mounted using screws or adhesive tape and can then be tilted or rotated.

There is an LED on the front that lights up in different colors depending on the state. However, you can also deactivate this LED completely via app. Just below that is the USB-C port for charging the integrated battery, which is supposed to last over 1 year depending on the activity according to the manufacturer.

Shelly Flood Features …

The Shelly Flood is a sensor that detects flooding caused, for example, by a leaking washing machine or by a defective backwater flap or water ingress at the cellar door or a leaking heating system and similar scenarios.

The device has 3 small metal feet on the underside of the casing, which detects when they are in water. This is a similar principle to an Aquastop, but with the transmission of data via WiFi and an acoustic signal.

A temperature sensor is also installed in this Shelly, which is quite practical, but on the other hand probably does not measure the room temperature very accurately when the device is on the floor. For that, it is all the more interesting for underfloor heating.

Unlike the Motion 2, the Flood is powered by a CR123A battery. The manufacturer specifies a battery life of 18 months.

This brings us to the practical testing of the Shelly components.
