DJI Power 1000 Review with Dongle, Solar, DJI Accessories Review

DJI Powerstation Layout, design and features …

Here you can see the DJI Power 1000 Powerstation, which contains the LiFePO4 (LFP) battery cells with a total capacity of 1024 Wh, with all the connections on the front. On the left there are two 230V Schuko sockets with a button for switching the AC on and off and two LEDs. If you look very closely, you can recognize a fine Power 1000 lettering in the lower area as well as a DJI lettering on the power station.

At the top right you can see the power button and this is what the Power 1000 looks like when switched on. In the center of the front of the device is an easy-to-read display with the runtime in percent and as remaining time as well as the current input or output power, possible error messages and symbols of the connected devices. Below this display, there are two USB-A outputs with up to 24 watts and two USB-C outputs with up to 140 watts per connection (PD3.1). As soon as the power station is switched on, the USB outputs are active and can be used directly.

To the right of the display, under a protective cap, is the 220-240V AC power input, where the supplied power cable can be plugged in to charge the power station. Underneath there is a selector switch that allows you to choose whether to charge with 600W or 1200W. At this location DJI Power 1000 Video we have explained an important criterion for the temperature in case the switchover does not work.

On the far right we see the proprietary DJI SDC at the top and below it the DJI SDC Lite connection, which can be used to connect specially available DJI accessories. The performance data for both SDC connections are identical and are 32 to 58.4 V DC, max. 400 watts, 8 A as input or 9 to 27 V to max. 10 A or a max. output power of 240 watts. In practice, however, much more is possible with various DJI power accessories!

On both sides are the fan grilles for the integrated fans, which are pleasantly quiet in operation, as well as two 1/4″ threaded holes for mounting accessories, such as one or even two optionally available solar panel adapter modules.

Apart from the DJI lettering and a few screws, there is nothing else to be seen on the back – neither LED lighting nor other connections. You can therefore safely place the Powerstation on a wall.

Two large, rubberized feet have been integrated under the DJI Power 1000 to ensure a secure stand.

Of course, we would also like to show you a few pictures and information about the available DJI Power accessories.

First of all, there is the optionally available DJI bag, which is perfectly finished except for a small thread.

Flaps can be opened at the side for ventilation, …

… so that you can operate the DJI Power 1000 Powerstation in it in a really comfortable and portable way. In the video, we show all the functions of the practical bag.

Here you can see the small DJI Power Dongle, which makes it possible, among other things, to connect the Powerstation to the home network in order to add the DJI Power 1000 to the cloud and control it with a smartphone or tablet.

Then we test a DJI Power 1 kW Auto Super fast charger. It can be switched on and off using the left-hand slide switch and the right-hand button is used to determine whether the system should feed the power into the car or whether the car should charge the battery. The respective switching status is displayed via the small LEDs and can be viewed in the app using the DJI dongle. Incidentally, the DJI Power Dongle is required for this anyway.

The necessary connection cable with a length of approx. 5 meters and a small 100A fuse box are included in the scope of delivery.

The approx. 40cm short DJI Power SDC for 12V car charging plug adapter cable enables the connection of conventional devices that have a 12V car plug, so that you can operate mobile car refrigerators or car vacuum cleaners, for example, but also notebook chargers with a 12V car connection and the like.

On the other hand, there is also a simple solution for mobile charging of the Powerstation in the car or camper. Here you can see the DJI Power car socket to SDC power cable, which consists of an SDC to XT60 adapter with up to 100 watts and a car socket to XT60 cable. The product is not only useful for charging the Powerstation via the 12V/24V car socket, but also enables the connection of a 100-120W solar module.

This brings us to the mobile Zignes 120 W solar panel. You would hardly know it from the approx. 5.6 kg heavy and approx. 58 x 37 cm large bag, …

… but it is a complete solar module with an unfolded span of 136.5x58cm, which we have also completely unfolded here in the video.

DJI also offers many more DJI Power accessories, such as the quick-charging cables for the DJI Matrice 30, DJI Mavic 3, DJI Air 3 and DJI Inspire 3 drones. The concept is therefore easy to understand, as DJI attaches great importance to modular expansion with accessories. Speaking of expansion – a DJI Power Expansion Battery 2000 (DYS_2000EB) with 2048Wh capacity is also available, which can even be expanded several times.
